Welcome to the online haven
for healers who write &
writers who heal
You're a transformation professional. You're a coach, a healer, a therapist, a creative entrepreneur with something to say. Maybe you'd say you're a writer too.
In your heart, you know you have messages that need to be crafted and stories that need to be shared.
But, all too often your blog posts, articles, offers, and potential books get lost in "the busy" before they even reach the draft stage.
Transform your writing practice.
Discover the healing power of your words.
Tell your Sovereign Story.
Pause a moment and consider the invitation Rainer Maria Rilke offers in Letters to a Young Poet:
“Ask yourself in the most silent hour of your night: must I write? Dig into yourself for a deep answer. And if this answer rings out in assent, if you meet this solemn question with a strong, simple "I must," then build your life in accordance with this necessity.”
What a delicious, powerful question, "must I write?"
What a wonderful, terrifying prospect if your answer is “I must.”
Ultimately, you know from experience that writing helps you. It helps you make sense of your thoughts and it fills you with solace and satisfaction like nothing else.
How beautiful it is to know that writing makes everything okay.
How hard it is when your life seems too full and your work seems too demanding to give you the time and headspace to do it.
You can’t “just” be a writer, after all. You are called to heal and serve others in too many ways to shut yourself up in a room and give yourself over to the page.
And yet, you do feel a tide of words rising within you (and you’re pretty sure there is a book inside you too).
But I hear you: you've got work to do. These days, if you give yourself a chance to write at all, you're probably doing a bit of journaling to save your sanity and publishing sporadically in order to support your business.
This is when I say quietly: you don't have to choose between your work, your words, and your true voice.
So, how do you sustain
your professional practice,
your creative practice &
your writing practice
in a joy-filled, nourishing way?
I've asked myself this question so many times.
And my answer is that it really is possible to make space in your life for the working, the healing, the dreaming, the creating, and the writing.
(Once we get to know each other you’ll understand that I specialize in “the both/and/also.” It's the Gemini and the Celtic myth lover me. There’s never one way to do anything when it comes to creativity, magic, writing, entrepreneurship, or love!)
As soon as you give yourself the space and the permission to show up fully to your vision, to your story, and to the page, something magical starts to happen.
When you join with others on a similar path, you find momentum.
Once you find a guide who understand this balance intimately and who is fiercely dedicated to the healing power of words and the ways that stories shape and change our world...
That combination sets the stage for powerful, sustainable professional and creative integration.
This is when you can start getting comfortable with establishing a writing practice and calling yourself a writer.
This is when you consistently begin to put words on the page that heal you, your community, and the world.
In case we haven't met yet, I'm Marisa Goudy.
I'm a writing coach, story healer, a magic maker, and a student of energy medicine, myth, and spirituality. I've earned my stripes as a copywriter, website development firm owner, and digital marketer too.
As I said, I completely believe that it's possible for you to make room for both the writing and the healing work. It's my great privilege to help you balance the creative practice that feeds the soul and the professional practice that buys the groceries.
Writing has been part of my identity from the very beginning. But I also know what it's like to put down the pen for years at a time and to forget that my mind, my heart, and my soul all need words.
Now that I've found my writing groove in the midst of being an entrepreneur, a mama, and an embodied spiritual being trying to schedule in a bit of self-care, I'm here to share all that I know about how to do it sustainably and joyfully.
The Sovereign Writers Circle
This is an online writing community for healers and transformation professionals who trust in what Nobel Prize winning poet Seamus Heaney tells us:
"If you have the words, there's always a chance you'll find the way."
As a healer who writes and a writer who heals, this is your place.
I’ve created the Sovereign Writers Circle for all of us…
All of us who claimed the title "writer" long ago and all of us who aren't sure we'll ever really feel ready.
All of us who believe that words have power, that stories transform lives, and that writing helps us know who we are and what we think.
All of us who want to make those blog posts, newsletters, articles, and books-in-progress a priority but who keep pushing those writing dates down the to do list.
All of us who know that there's more to writing than marketing: there's a deeply personal "Sovereign Story" that you need to explore so you can truly fulfill your mission in life.
All of us who are tired of wandering, wondering, and writing alone.
In the Sovereign Writers Circle, our goal is to get the writing done, but we don't do it because we "should."
We may simply be inspired to write, not to publish (at least for right now).
We write to pin the possibilities to the page before they disappear.
We write to uncover the magic within.
Will you commit to your own writing in order to feel creatively fulfilled, market your business, and cultivate the ideas that will grow into books, programs, and wonderful things you haven’t even imagined yet?
Will you join this digital community of writers because you know you must make the time and ask for the support you need to explore the stories you must tell?
What’s included in your monthly membership?
Six group calls per month:
Weekly writing practice sessions. Every hour-long session includes two brand new writing prompts. Opening with a brief meditation and closing with a conversation about the the writing process, there's time to share the ideas that came through and set intentions for future work. You can count on at least 45 minutes to write into the day’s topics or spend time on your own project.
One group writing coaching & story healing call. Bring your questions and your works-in-progress to this 60 - 90 minute group session. You'll get my intuitive counsel and practical expertise during this meeting, but you can expect even more valuable: the compassion and wisdom of your fellow writer-healer-seekers who are also on their own quest to discover and tell their sovereign stories.
One session with a featured guest expert who joins us to talk about creativity, marketing, publishing, healing, and self-care, and take your questions.
A match with carefully selected writing partner (this is optional, and the relationship is what you and your partner make of it, but it really could be extraordinary...)
All month long: Access to a private membership forum where you can connect with your fellow Sovereign Writers, talk about what's working and what's not, and find readers for your work.
Discounted one-on-one Story Healing & Writing Coaching sessions: 60-minute sessions with me are $150, but you can book hourlong appointments with me for $109 (that's a savings of over 25%).
Our Guest Experts, Past & Future (you get access to all the sessions when you join the group!)
Tamara Powell, Licensed Therapist & Spiritual Empowerment Coach at the Sacred Psychology podcast.
Tamara joins us to guide us through the ways your personality type shapes your creative practice.
Karen Brody, author of

In this strategy workshop, Morgan is going to give us the inside scoop on the four types of publishing: 1) traditional publishing, 2) self-publishing, 3) hybrid publishing, and 4) team publishing, and how to know which is right that book you're writing or dreaming about.

We'll dive into what it means to build your own platform for your story and Sheena's mission to publish people of all ages from all walks of life in every genre.
Marita Rahlenbeck, founder and CEO of Harmonic Wholeness shares her brilliance on the topics of food, aromatherapy, and life transitions.
During our time together, Marita will talk about how to elevate the food you eat and the "Sacred Mundanity" you experience in order to nurture and enrich your creative practice.
Michal Spiegelman is an Intuitive Transformation Mentor, a Certified Professional Coach, and the founder of Beacons of Change.
Michal will share her “beaconing in” and “beaconing out” practices for stepping into your power and sharing your gifts with the world in a bigger way. She'll also tell us what helps her be successful with blogging consistently once a week.
Why join the Sovereign Writers Circle online membership group?
You know that creativity is a powerful path to healing and writing is one of your primary means of self expression.
You long to develop a writing practice or find ways to turn your current writing into something.
You're seeking unique, compassionate, and perhaps even mystical ways to break through your creative blocks.
You want to discover what makes blog posts and website copy most compelling and effective (but not in a gimmicky, one-size fits all kind of way).
You're looking for a little bit of practical magic in your life. Typical conversations amongst our group involve intuitive wisdom drawn from dreams and oracle decks, mentions of fairies and unicorns, and talk of the quest for equality and social justice too.
You know it’s time to tap into what you want your words to do - for your present, for your future, for your readers, and for your business
Kind Words from SWC "Unicorns"
"Marisa is a maker of magic when it comes to words. She is masterful at helping others find their own magic and then encourage them to take their first wobbly steps towards writing independence by connecting them to other writers so they can support each other. I simply cannot wait to become a part of the Sovereign Writing Circle as I know this will be a veritable cauldron where new magic makers will be born."
- Kirsten Goffena, Licensed Professional Counselor & Momma Mentor,
Lost In Motherhood
"Marisa's affection for words and stories and the truest-truths shape her work into more than a being a writing coach, but a story healer. The sacred space she holds around my writing allows me to feel my way through a story that has felt unspeakable. She's been doing her own writing and magic-making thing for so long that it feels safe to let her guide and challenge me. With her help, I've begun to tell my truest-truths and welcome parts of my magical, playful spirit that had been hidden for years."
The coaching calls are so helpful when it comes to the internal struggles with what and where I write, acknowledgement that there are different parts of ourselves that need expression, that it takes TIME to write, and more.
Marisa, I love your style and energy and am really impressed with this process and community you’ve created. Wow!
- Gwen Riedl, GROW Coaching and Consulting
Do I have to be a “real writer” to join the SWC?
First, I despise that phrase. I think "real writer" is used as a weapon by people who have supposedly “made it” and hold up their publication credentials as a badge of honor to cover over some shadowy stuff underneath.
Do you wish that writing was part of your life on a daily or weekly basis? Are you willing to shift your schedule, watch less TV, and commit to your writing dates with yourself? Congratulations, you’re a writer and you belong here with us.
This is what you know: You may not feel completely comfortable calling yourself a writer (yet), but picking up a pen tends to help you feel better and you feel called to use words to make your mark in the world.
What sort of projects are Sovereign Writers working on?
Many are bloggers who are working on writing content to build their coaching, healing, therapy, or other creative small business. Others are focused on longer term book projects (or would like to be).
Several of our writers aren't working on anything specific are with us for the joy and the journey offered by each prompt... They don't know where their personal writing is going to take them, but they trust that it's going to be good.
What sort of commitment am I making?
You have the option to chose a quarterly or half-year membership. This group is ongoing and is intended to become a fundamental, longterm resource that furthers your creative and professional development. You're not encouraged to drop in and out. Re-entry into the group after cancelling your membership is at Marisa's discretion.

The monthly writing coaching calls and guest expert sessions will be recorded and made available the same day. Ideally, you'd make at least half of the 6 monthly sessions, but you can also get a lot out of the group by tuning into the recordings and checking in on the private Facebook group.
Do I have to have a writing partner?
You can request to opt-out of the writing partner component of the community, but I would love for you to give it a try. The goal is to give you an accountability buddy and a first reader who will be honest about whether you're telling a story that connects.
How are writing partners chosen?
You'll receive a questionnaire shortly after you register for the SWC that will help me match people. You'll have an option to request a partner who works in your field, but I believe the most supportive writing partnerships rely on bringing a unique perspective to the relationship. For example, if you're a therapist, you may grow more as a writer who is trying to communicate ideas to clients when your non-therapist writing partner tells you "but I don't understand what attachment theory is..."
When I match partners I will try to bring people together who have similar writing plans (say, two blog posts per month) and who indicate they have about the same availability to communicate with their partner (perhaps it's a weekly check in to see if you're honoring your writing dates or maybe you review each other's work in progress during the fourth week of the month).
What else do you need to know about me so you can trust that I'll hold you and your story her in the SCW?
For the last eight years, I have supported health professionals, holistic practitioners, and creative entrepreneurs who want to spread the word about their world changing work.
As a writing coach and story healer, I've held space for scores of writers, led dozens of coaching calls, edited hundreds of blog posts, and written countless website pages.
Through it all, I've always come back to the power of stories, to my own writing, and to the magic that's at the foundation of all I do. An energy healer with nearly two decades of experience, I merge the mystical with the practical, the writing practice with the professional practice, the ephemeral feelings with the words on the page.
